Rebel Lures
During the first half of the 90s, before he had any idea of becoming a guide bass or striped bass fisherman, I used to achieve cope with these brutes burst only at night with artificial lures. You can always tell if stripers Hungry fed in an area at night by clicking the Tell Tale made in the area surrounding a bait. I would put the rebel with the sound along the shore the dark and use a painfully slow retrieve to entice strikes from these big fish were very cautious in shallow water. You would have to lure real the extremely slow, barely moving. The bomb attacks that come without warning, sometimes right on the boat. This is a very exciting action and anyone who likes striper fish must try.
During a fishing trip in Virginia Smith Mountain Lake, which had left a friend's house on the lake by boat from 20 feet beneath my Winner around 12 am The season was in May and continued down the lake to Cedar Keys Cove at this time where stripers congregate to spawn in large numbers. When I went to the "keys" as the Witcher Creek cove was called, I shut off the engine before reaching the mouth of the creek and listened. I was in deep water and the banks, fell away sharply. As I listened at night here could tell the story of the pop of some very large fish to my right. Apparently, had moved into the spawning alwifes that swirled up along the steep banks. Fish were enhaling to right against the banks, because there were spawning frenzy
I slowly moved my electric traction motor and put the nose of the boat toward the bank, which allows me to cast my Rebel parallel to shore, closely, and slowly retrieve the lure back. The food was fast and furious and I was on pins and needles, waiting to strike a blow at any time. After 45 minutes of repeated melting and changing color of many, I was arid and confused. The following alwifes to spawn, making sounds by turning against bank, and continued to fly on them stripers. I tried to rebel in assorted colors and redfins too, but no luck. As I was digging through my tackle box, in my desperation, recovered a tangle of lures and noticed a sound coming from the tangle that looked like would sound when alwifes spawning on the surface.
As I untangled the mass of hooks and baits I have found within a Redfin I forgot. He was a black and silver backed unilateral model articulated. I tied and tested alongside the ship. As he slowly opened the surface, I realized that made a sound like alwifes spawning in the bank. I reset the boat and fired one issued by the bank. About 4 cranks in the slow recovery was not a monstrous blow up the bait and I was in the first fish of many ships it would in the next hour. It was a wonderful night and I caught many fish over 20 pounds and one with thirty.
I stayed in the area until the action disappeared and now I I was tired so he decided to establish on the boat and rest your eyes for a while. I awoke to the sound of fish last minute and chasing the bait on the surface. It was precisely on the day and the stripers were breaking the surface around my boat. I took my fishing rod and cast a Redfin in the midst of madness. The stripers, would blow on the plug and throw away the water, but could not get a hook into one. The fish went down and gave me the opportunity to change attracts a large plug that was emerging. A few minutes later he appeared again and threw the popper in between them. In the second Popper Chug a fish bait wrapped 20 pounds and had another fight on my hands. Fish fell before shipped and released this fish. It was over and he would not return.
