Casting Fly
Casting Fly

Learning to fly cast fishing is probably the most difficult technique to be learned by newcomers to the art of fly fishing. Casting really works by the weight of the fishing line forces the bar to bend and when we stop moving the energy stored in the bar-line models for us.

So is physical, but art is more difficult and it is getting even more. Here are some tips to try to remember.

Try not to bend wrist while the cast. The real reason for this is that only tires. His arm is much stronger than the wrist to use it.

Be sure to take any slack in the line before attempting to cast. If the line is loose, you do not move when you start the back cast up the slack is gone. That is losing much movement and you will not be able to cast very far.

Try to keep the smooth casting action. A smooth action is much more important than speed. In the division below you should start to accelerate before coming to an abrupt stop with a flick of the wrist. (Here is where to move). This sudden stopping is what you need much practice and ultimately determines the success of the model.

Along with the smooth action is trying to keep the whole body relaxed during the fly cast - not a easy thing to do when you see a big salmon and goes after, but always check that is not tense.

Remembering these tips is just the start. There is no training method that is better that being on a river and spending a few hours casting the line. Remember that the line follows the rod tip and is projected forwards when you stop the forward cast. This fundamental rule is often overlooked resulting in lack of success and inaccurate fly fishing cast.

The most important tip of all is that fly fishing should be enjoyable so don't get too hung up on techniques and methods. It all will fall into place when you gain more experience and practice. Keep your eyes open and watch experienced anglers carefully to see what they are doing.
