Jaguar began in 1922, originally as Swallow and Blackpool, Lancashire seemed a promising launching pad for a car that was so inspiring as did.

In the years following the end of World War 1, Sir William Lyons, then known as Bill, who seemed to be a young motorcycle manufacturer with sidecar, delusions of grandeur. He was ambitious to move up the cars, and in 1927, he used his Swallow Sidecar skills coach for construction workers Organizations Austin Sevens, giving them a status that barely deserved.

His friends, Bertie Henly and Frank Hough, who were the motor trade business, at 91 Great Portland Street, London, were sold.

Henly boldly ordered five hundred cars, and the bright young things at the west end, were only work with a shiny chrome car while others were simply green or black.

However, the crowd smart Brooklands, even after the factory moved to Coventry, swallows, and their successors the SS1 and SS2 were a little indifferent. They were ridiculed for having a long engine hood and weak, and fans who may not have known better, he refused to be fooled by the tricks aesthetic, as the two-tone paint and a low roofline.

They believed it was impossible to build a good car, good price, and without knowing that Lyon will keep a tight rein on unnecessary spending and not skimp on the production or materials. As well as having a gift for a car how it should be, Lyon made a hard bargain with suppliers and costs are kept low without mercy.

The trainees were an elite band that pays a premium to work there and have been trained for this type of sound that the British motor trade and industry were filled with former Jaguar apprentice senior executive positions.

Lyon choice of the SS as the name of their car was something of a mystery. He stated it was not an SS contraction of the norm or standard Special Swallow. George Brough who made the SS80 Brough Superior motorcycles and believes that Lyon had the idea to him.

Nothing captured the mood of the moment very well. Ocean steamers are trendsetters, the SS had no sinister ring, and Lyon began to search through lists of birds and animals before deciding the fastest creature with a name that could be applied to a car.

Jaguar chose, and once it had granted Armstrong-Siddeley permit, the name was introduced for new models in September 1935 and until 1940, were known as SS Jaguars, even omitting the full points from 1936 as the letters and was not at all, like MG. Lyon said the head of advertising for a jump EW Rankin symbolic jaguar mascot after a company of accessories occurred that did not like as it looked like a cat shot out of a fence.

An artist by the name of Frederick Crosby was asked by one, but unfortunately symbolic jaguar, which adorned the cars of 1935, could not have been a jaguar at all. It first appeared at the fair in the 1930 Olympia Motor in a MG as a tiger. It looked much like a panther designed in 1920 by Casimir Brau and is certainly a close relationship with Crosby produced by Cecil Kimber, founder of the MG.

The jaguar was almost identical in all respects, except on the hind feet slipped behind machine guns, while there was widespread. Both Lyon and Rankin knew pet of the MG was irrelevant and Jaguar Cars was unperturbed about the review of his history of the company. A company spokesman said it was a jaguar anatomically correct.

Until 1939, even if the Jaguars looked like a fake, it definitely was not entirely in good faith. Furthermore, when the brand was revived after World War 2, which was both to live and be fulfilled. To find some substance behind the glitter, and as soon as a market Buyers returned, competition resumed.
